Latinas in Boom: A Panel Discussion & International Afro Latina Celebration in NYC

Join us on Friday, July 25, 2025 for Afro Latinas in Bloom, a panel discussion and Afro Latina Day Celebration, taking place at the Dominican-owned Con Bud Dispensary in New York City from 7:30–10:30 PM.

​Hosted by Latinas in Cannabis, the largest digital and in-person community for Latina cannabis professionals, creatives, enthusiasts — and the allies who support them — this powerful event is dedicated to uplifting the voices, stories, and contributions of Afro Latinas in the cannabis industry. We are proud to create safe, intentional spaces where our community can connect, grow, and be celebrated without stigma.

​Afro Latina Day, observed annually on July 25, honors the legacy of a historic gathering in the Dominican Republic in 1992, where 300 Afro-descendant women from across Latin America united to build political alliances and combat racism through a gendered lens. This day continues to serve as a global call to recognize the experiences, achievements, and struggles of Afro-Latin American, Afro-Caribbean, and Diaspora women.

​Through this event, we aim to facilitate important conversations at the intersection of identity, culture, and cannabis — conversations that are essential to dismantling barriers and building a more inclusive industry. We invite you to join us in community as we celebrate Afro Latinidad, elevate plant medicine, and honor the power and beauty of Afro Latinas in bloom.
